In Our Hands: The Future of proactive health is a heartbeat away | Dr Robert Adams | TEDxNorwichED
Some find their mission in life through a pivotal event. For Dr. Robert Adams, this was a diagnosis of a brain tumor Glioblastoma “GBM”, which set him on a journey - at the pace of a ticking time bomb - to leave this world a better place than he found it. While creating and patenting a revolutionary technology for vascular identification that will keep the world safer, he realized this same technology, constantly scanning our blood and flesh at .02 micron for ID, can potentially keep us healthier, living better and longer by using AI to monitor our baseline health and well being. Dr. Adams hopes that thanks to UID™, we will one day be able to see or “smell” disease using chemosensory, viewing or sensing tumor cells as they form, catching them sooner than his… Dr. Adams will recount his tre...

Creating a Proactive Healthcare System | Angela Moss | TEDxRushU
Creating a Proactive Healthcare System is not rocket science.
The only constant is change, yet stability is essential in order for any organism to be flexible enough to
adapt to change. Furthermore, the most unexpected and unrelated perspectives can intersect, and if
you pay attention, can prepare you for the unknown. This kind of preparation leads to innovative
thinking and creative solutions to complex problems into the future. I will speak about how my personal
experiences with joyful surprises, opportunities, illness, grief, and professional growth have intersected
with my work as a nurse and nurse faculty to produce new, sustainable solutions to gaps and access
barriers in our healthcare system. I will also talk about how this perspective helps me relate to others,

Robert Adams, a proven senior executive, has successfully performed as leader, manager and mentor in a series of challenging, nationally important projects and products within US Government organizations, the Department of Defense, NATO and major US Companies. Dr. Adams holds a double PhD in Psychology and Sociology.
Dr. Adams is the inventor of the revolutionary Global e∙dentity™ Infrared Vein Matching Patented Technology. While working on security and ID applications, he discovered that the AI scanning the vascular system identifies markers indicating diseases, from flu to cancer. As a cancer patient fighting a brain tumor, Dr. Adams saw the tremendous potential: enabling proactive health monitoring by gathering real time data from ID scans, creating a wide sensor network to potentially identify illness, automatically prescribe treatment and track health data to control outbreaks.
Dr. Adams’ mission is to create a safer, healthier world by utilizing data that is literally, in our hands." This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx

"Mental health problems in children and young people are increasing - we need to act NOW! The Decider Life Skills are 12 evidence based, award winning key skills for proactive mental health.
Michelle Ayres and Carol Vivyan are Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists who have worked in mental health for over thirty years.
They developed The Decider Life Skills, a new, proactive approach, which develops a common language for us all to manage our emotions. The skills benefit everyone; personally, socially, emotionally and financially.
Carol Vivyan is a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists and mental health nurse from Guernsey, Channel Islands. Together with Michelle Ayres they won the 2015 British Journal of Nursing's Mental Health Nurse of the Year for the Decider Life Skills they created.
Carol is the author and creator of the CBT self help and therapy resource website: Getselfhelp.co.uk (Get.gg).
Michelle and Carol realised that mental health services are set up to treat problems too late. They imagined teaching fun and effective Life Skills to children and young people BEFORE any problems emerged. Teaching these Life Skills just the same way we teach about fire drill - to all children in all schools and reinforced often. Just a few hours teaching could have a massive impact on our future mental health and wellbeing.
The central message of The Decider Life Skills is "If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got".
It's time to change.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
